Simple Banana Pudding is a fast and easy dessert made by layering vanilla-flavored wafers, vanilla pudding, and bananas, all topped with whipped cream. It's got all the rich flavor of the traditional dessert, but it can be made in only an hour! If you like your desserts made by hand, look at my Ultimate Banana Pudding.
Ingredients & Substitutions
This is an easy method to prepare this dessert. However, I'll also give you options to create the components from scratch.
Vanilla Pudding: This recipe calls for an instant vanilla pudding mix as well as cold milk. Make your vanilla pudding for use. You can make other flavors of pudding-like chocolate, banana cream, or butterscotch, for a different twist on the dessert.
Vanilla wafers: For ease, buy a bag of vanilla wafers. However, I have vanilla wafers I made myself that are delicious! If you don't have vanilla wafers, you can make the dessert with shortbread cookies, graham crackers, or ginger biscuits.
Bananas I made use of 4 mature bananas to make the layers of this dessert.
Whipped topping: This recipe calls for a tub of whipped, similar to an excellent whip. You can make your own to use.
Can I Make the Pudding Ahead of Time?
Sure! Follow the directions on the package to prepare your vanilla dessert. After the pudding is ready, put it inside an airtight bottle in the refrigerator. It can last three days. When you are prepared to serve the dessert, mix the pudding before putting it into the dessert.
How to Store Easy Banana Pudding
After mixing the easy banana pudding and covering it with a lid, it can be stored and chilled to be enjoyed later. It should last 3-4 days but should be consumed within a few days.
